Ilex ecology was set up in 2008 by Dominic Price MSc, BSc, (MCIEEM 2002-08, 2012-19). Dominic has worked in the environment sector for 15 years and is currently Director of The Species Recovery Trust. Previous to this he spent over 8 years working as a species recovery specialist of Plantlife International, and has worked as a consultant for over 14 years with several years in environmental education and working on conservation expeditions in East Africa. Ilex Ecology comprises a consortium of specialist ecologists and can carry out ecological consultancy projects of varied types to an exceptionally high degree of expertise.

Recent consultancy contracts include  the supervision and design of mitigation on a heathland SPA/SAC site, survey and mitigation design for largescale solar, NVC surveys of SSSI and devising reptile mitigation strategies.

Dominic makes regular appearances in the media to talk about conservation issues, and has appeared on BBC Breakfast, Radio 4’s The Today Programme as well as The One Show and Countryfile. He is also one of the country’s leading botanical trainers and species conservation experts.

Ilex Ecology has professional indemnity insurance and the relevant license for protected species work as well as current First Aid certification and CRB check.
